A sobering example: billions of people across Australia and around the world have petitioned, marched, pleaded, and called on their governments to act in the face of the atrocities unleashed by Zionist forces against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank — since 7 October 2023, and in fact through nearly eight decades of dispossession and occupation. Yet the bloodshed continues: over 67,000 killed — nearly half of them women and children — excluding those starved, struck by disease, or buried alive under rubble.
On 21 September 2025, Australia formally recognised the State of Palestine as an independent sovereign entity. However, despite this recognition, Australia continues to supply parts, surveillance systems, and military-adjacent technologies used by Israel—ostensibly not 'weapons', but components for drones, F-35 aircraft, and other hardware. Such exports indirectly facilitate Israel’s military campaigns in Gaza and the territories. Instead of allowing Palestinians to exercise self-governance, there are now discussions about placing them under the authority of one of the most notorious war criminals of our time — Tony Blair, co-responsible for the destruction of Iraq and the deaths of over a million people. My Australian heroes are those working tirelessly in solidarity with Palestine — especially the brave civilians on the Global Sumud Flotilla sailing toward Gaza, carrying humanitarian aid and peace with them.

Speak up — your voice matters
Lobby your government to cut military exports and impose real sanctions and enforce international law without delay.

Use art, music, writing, protest, prayer, and creativity to awaken awareness
Stand in solidarity — not just in sentiment, but in action
Let our unity be stronger than apathy, our compassion louder than indifference, our resolve firmer than fear. The world needs every caring person now to ACT.
Greta Thunberg on board the Global Sumud Flotilla has more steel in her spine and love in here heart than any of our politicians. She says: 'I'm not scared of Israel. I'm scared of a world that has seemingly lost all sense of humanity and what we're trying to do here is to show that there is still some humanity left, that there are still people willing to step up when other means fail. But this is a last resort. This mission should not have to exist.

Gratitude to all aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, and to Spain and Italy for their escorting vessels, standing in solidarity with a mission of mercy. Across the world, countless hearts are joined in supporting this endeavour to bring vital aid, to open safe channels for humanitarian relief, and to call for an end to the ongoing devastation in Palestine. As of 29 September, the flotilla continues its journey under escort, approximately 366 nautical miles from Gaza.
