Clarity for Life with Cedar Rivers - Module 3 More Teaching Tips
‘I operate off a concept called ‘muchness’ which is surrounding children with things they love, be it music or art, whatever they are drawn to in love.’ -- - Kristine Barnett, Jacob Barnett’s Mother
In addition to the suggestions from the various experts already researched, you may like to consider the following tips for raising a New Child or New Children.
Personal Development
The very best thing you can do for your New Child is to work on your own personal growth, self-knowledge and spiritual awareness.
Spiritual Maturity
Educate yourself about telepathy, empathy, energy healing, extra sensory skills, psychic abilities, and the ’invisible realms’ of nature spirits, tree spirits, angels, spirit guides, and off planet beings.
Parent Groups for Support and Sharing
Organise and get together small groups of parents, grandparents and teachers for on-going sharing and support.
Participate in online forums with others.
Enjoy Time in Nature Every Day of the Week
Create opportunities to learn about the Earth and all her creations - plants, animals, mountains, rivers and oceans. Ensure your New Children spend time in nature to commune with the plants, trees, bees, butterflies, and so-called ‘invisible’ nature kingdoms of the fairies, angels, and all manner of other spirit beings. The New Child is naturally environmentally conscious, and is already discovering innovative ways to clean up the current mess in so many environments. Grow gardens together. Teach care of pets, animals and wildlife. |
Nutritious Organic Food
Good nutritional habits arise from what the child experiences in the home. Provide wholesome and nutritious food and ask your child or children to help with preparing the food, setting the table, and cleaning up.
Include plenty of pure water. Occasionally add squeezed lemon or orange juice to make it palatable to ensure they have enough water daily.
Consider herbal medicines and natural treatments for your sensitive child.

Exceptionally Creative
Ensure your children have plenty of stimulus. They may be extremely gifted in a number of areas such as painting, playing an instrument, writing poetry and inventing new technology. I’m a great proponent of the Man Shed and the She Shed and if circumstances permit, a Play Room for children where they can be creative and play to their heart’s desire. This may be a spare bedroom, rumpus room, garage, or a caravan or tent in the back yard. |
‘My little brain just remembers’.
Play, Play and Play
Allow for experiential learning and lots of time to play both indoors and outdoors. Provide loads of playtime alone, with other kids, with animals, and with you. Establish a creative space that they can leave set up with their paints, inventions, instruments, creations, toys etc Allow plenty of alone time for them to explore and expand on their creations and discoveries |
I asked Levi about his gifts and how he accessed them.
Levi stated simply, "I bi-locate... I can be in two places at the same time."
Attentiveness
New Children appreciate your understanding, compassion, humour and patience.
Listen deeply to their conversations, discoveries and needs.
Believe their stories and value their creations.
They are often wise beyond their years, and appreciate purposeful questioning and deep listening.
Introduce them to a wide variety of subjects.
Find new ways of showing that you love and cherish them.
Explore Methods of Alternative Schooling
The New Child may be differently functional and have special needs and laser like focus in one or two areas. They may prefer to learn outside conventional curricula. These children are skilled at multi-tasking and research suggests they think in vortexes, not linearly, thus their problem-solving and learning also take on different processes.
Parents might find it beneficial to explore schooling such as Steiner, Montessori, Waldorf, Ringing Cedars, Home Schooling, Un-Schooling, and Personal Tutoring.
Educate yourself on subjects such as multitasking, geography, astronomy, the new technologies, science, mathematics physics and chemistry so you may guide your child with skill.
Conflict Resolution
The values in your home may differ from those of the local community. Teach your child the differences, and how they may manouveur interactions safely and honestly. Learning the processes of ‘clearing techniques’ when challenges arise will stand them in good stead. Teach them to listen deeply to the other’s point of view, and to express their own with clarity, conviction and compassion.

Study Astronomy and the Night Sky
New Children often have a profound understanding of the night sky and constellations.
They may exhibit a universal identity rather than egoic identity - more stellar than psychological.
