Start and Stimulate Conversations with Qcards
Have you ever been at a social gathering where the conversation goes little beyond, “So, what do you do?” then peters out to an uneasy silence? Qcards have been developed to start and enhance the art of conversation. Qcards are a deck of activity cards that have 88 inspirational questions that will lead to meaningful communication between family, friends and strangers. Qcards can be used in a wide variety of situations. The questions are designed to initiate in-depth answers, so participants will learn more about each other.
They have been conceived and developed by Cedar & Sally. “Qcards are a social activity and not a game,” Cedar explains. “They can be used to initiate conversations in groups or one-on-one. Sally and I have noticed that, with the rise of social media and the omnipresent small screen, some people appear to be more socially awkward in real life. Qcards help revive the inherent skills of talking and listening.
“Qcards have a broad range of positive and thought-provoking questions that will enliven your conversations and provide new topics that you might not normally explore. Friends, family and colleagues will love Qcards. It’s fun, revealing and can deepen bonds.”
Qcards work like this. A facilitator will take a card and read the question. Some thinking time is suggested before each person in the group replies. The respondent should use ‘I’ statements and ‘own’ their response and not be interrupted (or worse, criticised!) while talking. When they have finished, anyone can ask a follow-up question and so the conversation develops and deepens.
Examples of Qcard questions include: How would you describe your ideal day?
What do you know well enough that you could teach others?
When you think of home, what specifically comes to mind?
Qcards are ideal for couples, dinner parties, dating, personal development groups, corporate events, online forums, language schools, school classes, aged care facilities, long road trips and much more. They also make an ideal gift.
A pack of Qcards, containing 88 question cards including a Joker, a Wild Card and instructions, can be ordered online from www.clarityforlife.training/Qcards.html
