Buddy System

Picture
Everyone needs one good friend and one good project
Picture
Working with a Buddy is OPTIONAL, though strongly recommended.
Your best friend, partner, family member, colleague or housemate may also be interested in working with you in this way.

Begin by thinking about what you will give, and how you will request help and work with the buddy of your choice.

What makes a good friend?
Teaming up with a buddy who is also participating in the

course has two-way advantages:
·      Sharing discoveries, achievements and creations
·      Brainstorming. Two heads are better than one
·
Help to become, and stay organised
·      Help with staying committed to the course
·      Provides a supportive listening field
·      Motivation and in-depth support
·      It’s more fun

When working with your buddy:
·      Share your experiences and epiphanies
·      Help with their writing and illustrations if asked
·      Communicate. Give thoughtful, wise counsel when appropriate
·      Enquire. Never assume. Ask them what they need, listen deeply
·      Join your buddy for your daily movement and stillness exercises
·      Be trustworthy and loyal, kind and respectful, honour their privacy
·      Offer suggestions, tell your truth with care, be playful and have fun
·      Assist with a positive focus; do not support whining, gossip or negativity

Decide upon daily, bi or tri-weekly contact while working on the course sessions and establish

convenient times to call or visit so you can both enjoy the very best space for uninterrupted interaction.

Clarify Your Commitment and Action Plan for Working With The Course

How do you want to live your life amidst all the changes?
The Clarity Sessions will help with your short and long-term objectives. The exercises are designed to build upon each other, and if engaged in wholeheartedly, you will feel obvious and positive change within weeks, if not days.

What positive changes would you like to achieve by your next birthday?
Assess all the areas of your life in detail.
Learn how to strengthen your strong points and overhaul your weaknesses.
Determine how much time you will allocate to the work.
Suggestion: At least one hour per day.

I urge you to work with a trusted friend throughout the course. Please read and reread the guidance and instructions for each individual session, and discuss with your friend for further clarification, preparation, ideas and illumination.

Brainstorming * Imagining * The Dreaming * Vision Board * Commitment

Detailed brainstorming of all your possibilities is an essential starting point for finding the clarity necessary for moving forward. Once you've achieved clarity, be as enthusiastic and proactive as you can, and continue to follow through with passion and presence. If it works for you - make lists, sub-lists, and sub-sub-lists, and when done, choose your best ideas, rearrange them and begin your great work.

There are no wrong ways to do these exercises. The right way is your way, so it is important to modify my suggestions to suit your personal needs and interests. Choose any or all of the processes you are interested in, and delve in at the level and detail that suits you best. As with all things, the more you participate in both the planned or spontaneous activity brought on by the course, the more enjoyment and benefits you will receive.

Self Evaluation: At the conclusion of your work on each session you will be invited to review your exercises and evaluate your own efforts and accomplishments. Please be kind to yourself.

Mentors, Counsellors and Educators

Picture
Choose mentors who are successful at what they do
Considerate Feedback
You both might like to research and consider the finest qualities of teaching, mentoring and advising. When offering feedback and evaluation, think it through before speaking, and always give it in the manner in which you would like to receive it.

Blunt, angry and scathing criticism is soul destroying and never productive. Informative, wise and patient feedback opens doors to high self-esteem, enthusiastic learning and expansive growth. Always look for something to praise and acknowledge.

Daily Journalling, Affirmations, Gratitude, Quietude, Movement

PictureEnjoy 10 minutes of total stillness every day
  • Write and reflect upon daily journal or diary entries
  • Create and repeat new affirmations every week
  • Begin a gratitude jar or journal what you're thankful for
  • Be still for a minimum of ten minutes each day
  • Twenty minutes of mindful movement every day
  • Breath and energy work for balance and harmony
  • Plan tomorrow's Clarity exercises

20 Minutes of Movement Daily

PictureWalking, swimming, dancing, yoga, or bicycling daily
Example: A 20 Minute Walk
  • Begin with conscious breathing
  • Vary the pace of your walking
  • Notice how your body feels
  • Notice everything in the landscape
  • Listen to the sounds
  • Smell the fragrances
  • Touch various items
  • Feel the sun, rain or wind on your body
  • Observe yourself from ‘ten feet above’
  • Pay attention to what you enjoy most

A Private Space

PictureA personal retreat
A private sanctuary provides a personal oasis where you can rest, renew, work, create, meditate and dream. I believe everyone needs a safe space to call his or her own. Even 10 square feet of privacy is ideal.

Define your boundaries clearly so others will respect your sacred space and enter only by invitation or agreement. If your circumstances allow, and you have not yet done it, please consider creating your own special retreat of beauty and privacy.

Taking Care of Your Own Wellbeing

Picture'I can see clearly now'
Responsible adults take care of themselves in every way. At times, some of the exercises may bring up challenging issues for you. If this happens you will need to engage your wise inner self, and perhaps discuss these matters with your buddy or another trusted friend.

If they are very painful issues that you want to understand and clear, I encourage you to get help from  a counsellor or experienced mentor.

Clearing Techniques

Picture
While your personal history is very important and may need to be told and retold - rehashing the painful past in the same ways does not release or solve conflict. Clarity, commitment, willingness, forgiveness, counselling and new perspectives do.

Research new and fresh ways to clear and resolve conflicts and disputes without raging, blaming, shaming, or withdrawing in silence. Do not allow unresolved feelings, thoughts and the emotional consequences of traumatic past events to become so toxic that they lodge in your body to perhaps cause illness at a later time.

Explore the benefits of bodywork-clearing techniques such as massage, spa and sauna, acupuncture, yoga, T’ai chi, Qigong and other energy healing modalities to help resolve emotional, mental and physical pain.

Artful Conversationalists

If you’re a talker – master the art of enquiry and creating a genuine listening field for others, at least for some of the time.
If you’re a listener – take risks and discover confidence in spoken communication, even if only occasionally.

Use the internet to research new ideas on the arts of * conversation  * confident speaking  * apology  * mediation
* the heartfelt invitation  * writing a letter of condolence

Clarity * Focus * Application * Spontaneity *  Synchronicity * Manifestation

Picture
Clarify your focus and plans for a spectacular new day just prior to sleep and again upon waking.  Picture tomorrow's successes.
‘Pronoia’ is the antidote for paranoia. Pronoia is having the knowledge that the whole world and universe exist to support you and shower you with blessings. This requires a shift in attitude for those who believe that life is made of challenges, struggle and no pain no gain. It is a choice to ‘flick the switch’ to a blessed life of joy, enthusiasm and ease.

Do whatever inspires you to live a gratifying life with no regrets. Some focus and stay stuck on a nemesis, money issue, dysfunctional family dynamic, and worry making progress impossible. If you see yourself in this, will you continue to recycle your pain or will you now seek clarity and the means to heal, break free and grow?

Do whatever it takes to become the most interesting person you know.

Metaphors in Nature

PictureCredit Artist: Queen Bee by Lea Bradovich
I'll use a slice of honeycomb throughout this course as a template to simplify comprehensive information. The cells in the honeycomb are hexagonal, which is the strongest shape known for building.

Metaphorically speaking, this creates the strongest possible foundation for supporting the course material. The bee is one of the finest pollinators on the planet. As go the bees - so go we. You will discover more relevant metaphors of the bee and the beehive as you work through the course.

The Triumph of the Hexagon – Nature’s perfect shape.

Be discerning about who you share time with, as the agenda of armchair critics and gossips is to enrol you in their negativity and low vibration. Enjoy the company of those who elevate your spirits - and evolve.
