'Good grief Cedar! What do you make of this metaphysically?' Cherry Muhanji, a Facebook friend, asked this question in response to my post yesterday demonstrating the massive size of NSW - i.e. 114,000 square kilometres larger than Texas USA and how 100% of my home state is now in DROUGHT - the worst dry in living memory. How would YOU respond to Cherry's query?
There are layers upon layers of perspectives in attempting to answer though I'll give it a brief go to open the debate. As I write this on the 8:8:18 a positive energy shift known among metaphysicians as The Lion's Gate Portal or gateway into higher realms of consciousness is in progress. Appropriate timing.
A Projection of Mass Consciousness
Droughts, fires, wars, diaspora, greed, sanctioned and unsanctioned killing, economic hardships, hunger, thirst and all manner of challenges are products of the false imposed paradigm of duality in my view and they are a creation of mass consciousness with some help from evil weather manipulators for their selfish agendas.
Mother Earth is a conscious living being who has been so very patient with masses of thuggish humans irresponsible to her needs by constant polluting, gouging, poisoning, deforestation, misusing, and taking and taking and taking. I feel blessed as most people I know are taking personal responsibility and are working to redress these obscene misuses of Earth's resources by others.
Earth is a planet of free-will choice and duality. IF we are to evolve and not endure a sixth mass extinction we need to retain the former and find our way out of the latter individual by individual. In this manner, we return to unity consciousness and Oneness with Source with full awareness of our magnificent Self, the revelations of the Akashic records and liberation of mind and Soul.
No-one is coming to save us. It's up to you and me to continue working on our awakening if humanity is to graduate its current 'infancy' and survive and thrive as an enlightened species.
Now Back to the Farmers
Farmers are good, hard-working people in the main and it is utterly heartbreaking to see them and their loved ones and animals suffer so horribly during these devastating droughts, floods and fires. In many (most?) instances they are just doing what their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents have done before them. This is also true of politicians, retailers, builders, entertainers, teachers, writers, artists, musicians, lawyers, etcetera. We often follow in the footsteps of our ancestors either consciously or unconsciously, and it's clear that what worked successfully for them in their era may be far too outmoded for our current changed conditions.
Consider this formula - Farmers grow livestock > to SLAUGHTER > and EAT
Let me put it another way - Farmers grow animals to be KILLED and CONSUMED
This millennia old practice belongs to The Old Earth and to the majority of homo sapiens.
Homo-luminous of The New Earth would consider eating animals unconscionable and a type of 'cannibalism'. Many of The New Children simply refuse to eat meat.
Farmers May Need to Rethink Farming Practices
Question: How much corn can be grown with the same amount of water needed to sustain a steer?
Another Example: Australia is the seventh largest producer of cotton. The cotton plant needs 50% more water than hemp yet our political leaders confuse hemp with marijuana (while the consumption of alcohol is promoted notwithstanding the problems of drunk driving, domestic violence, and negative health and social issues).
A Complete REVIEW, RETHINK, RECALIBRATION and RESET May Be Needed
Homo sapiens cling to old habits even when proven that many of them no longer work. You cannot change another's mind and habits though you can delicately offer suggestions and support and roll up your sleeves and help.

OF COURSE, radical change of the magnitude I'm suggesting will be met with RESISTANCE, and lawmakers often lack vision and imagination and therefore follow mass consciousness to eventually enact new initiatives. We haven't got years.

Readers no doubt understand our present species known as homo-sapiens began as homo erectus 1.8 to 1.3 million years ago is now undergoing an evolutionary shift of gigantic proportions. Humanity is ripe to evolve into Homo-luminous within the decades between 2012 to 2030. The emergence of Homo-luminous is NOT a given as it involves our personal choice and intense mindfulness.

Can you think of any country that we could hold up as a role model that others might aspire to?
It is necessary that empathy, caring and co-operation replace the narcissism, cruelty, corruption and egoic entitlement so prevalent among many current leaders and ruling parties. They're just doing what their ancestors and predecessors did.
What will it take?
A sincere desire for viable change. Courage to risk change. Imagination. Self-responsibility. Co-operation among lawmakers, communities, families and individuals. Listening to and acting upon wise counsel. Your ideas go here.
If it makes sense to you of my understanding that the conditions of the outer world reflect our mass consciousness then what changes in behaviour do you consider are necessary now? and who needs to make them?
