I hold them responsible for corrupt water mismanagement and destruction of rivers which have exacerbated the devastating effects of the drought, leaving farms and numerous towns low or entirely without water.
Why there isn't a full and active LNP response to the fires, waterways, climate emergency, loss of food-producing farms and businesses, and the growing needs of the people is utterly pathetic.
Australia will never be the same again. The far-right conservative government has seen to that. The future will be very bleak within five years (very conservatively - more like two) if the people permit the LNP to remain in power until the election in 2022.
I saw this future we are now experiencing before the elections in May 2018. I didn't spell it out as I honestly believed voters would see through the LNP's lack of policy, blatant lies and the hideous propaganda machine of Morrison, Murdoch, Jones, Palmer and Co.
So now I'll put our possible future in black and white unless we get off our apathy and arses and have a peaceful revolution to remove the coalition from government asap.
Otherwise, we may expect riots, violence, loss of livelihoods, crippling poverty, foreclosures, crime, a police state, thousands of incarcerations, torture, life-threatening shortages of food and water causing hunger and thirst, and devastated environments including our oceans just for starters.
If you have viable solutions please pursue and action them if possible. Your peaceful activism is crucial now.
MUNGO MACCALLUM.-There is no reason to believe that Scott Morrison is becoming a serious Prime Minister
These lethal fires - 'unprecedented' - primarily due to governmental mismanagement, miserliness and priorities for profit have already caused the loss of lives and properties, and the destruction of five million hectares (12.3 million acres) of crops, forests, townships, livestock and wildlife and their habitats this season. To put it in perspective that's about 40% of the entire landmass of England, 60% of Scotland, 60% of Ireland, 2.5 times Wales, 3.5 times Connecticut, 2 times New Hampshire, 1.7 times Belgium, 1.25 times Holland. The fires in every state are FAR FROM OVER and could rage for months continuing the utter devastation in their path. Smoke from Australian fires covers parts of New Zealand. |
