Can you name ONE country that doesn't have a centuries-long history of bloodshed and destruction over appropriation of land, resources, religious supremacy and hatred of those who are different?
Some history:
On May 14, 1948, the State of Israel was established, marking the end of British rule in Palestine. This event triggered the first Arab-Israeli War, involving neighbouring Arab countries, which ultimately led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian Arabs.
Vanishing Palestine: Creating a Jewish state in Palestine was a deliberate, drawn-out and violent process. Palestinians were dispossessed of vast swathes of land. Over 80 percent of Palestinians in what became Israel in 1948 were made into refugees overnight. The process may have culminated in 1948, but it had begun in the early 20th century – and it still continues today. Anthony Albanese on Facebook Australia stands with our friend Israel in this time. We condemn the indiscriminate and abhorrent attacks by Hamas on Israel, its cities and civilians. We recognise Israel’s right to defend itself. |

My response to the Prime Minister
I am a 77-year-old woman and the year I was born, Israel started stealing Palestinian land and making life unbearable for the Palestinians.
Israel is NOT my friend and Labor has lost my lifelong vote if our politcians lead us into another endless, ill-conceived war where no one is the winner.
While I do not condone Hamas' actions - I remember the atrocities and cost on numerous levels of our involvement in the wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Ukraine. Australia's role must be PEACEKEEPING and DIPLOMACY rather than fanning the flames of mayhem and foolish destruction. It is imperative that our country's leadership becomes more creative and finds new perspectives rather than following the Federal Government's predictable mode of behaviour. NO MORE WAR.
Worth listening to - Tucker Carlson on X Ep. 29 After the Hamas attacks, what’s the wise path forward? Outrageous and inflammatory comments from Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, Lindsey Graham, Chris Christie, John Bolton, ....
Hamas is outrageous. But I don't hear Israel taking responsibility for the destruction of Palestinian lives, livelihoods and homes for more than seven decades, creating personalities that have no qualms about killing and destroying. Observers need to study the history of the region to even begin to understand the innate hatred and what brought it about. | In Gaza: ~97% of water is unfit for drinking ~56% live in poverty ~64% of youth are unemployed ~80% are reliant on international aid ~70% are refugees And 100% are trapped under Israeli siege, occupation, and endless bombing campaigns. |
If you are following these latest developments please examine all sides and note the neighbouring countries although Iran also comes to mind. How will the USA respond? and what will Australia do?
The remote viewers picked the war up in last month's viewing.
