UPDATE 27 June. I've found Sterling Psychic Medium to be very accurate and sees the original ruling on Roe V Wade being restored in a year. Click here for his interesting explanation at the beginning and again at 16 minutes. Marge Piercy wrote this poem in 1980; it matters even more today than it did forty-one years ago. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), was a 7 to 2 landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States generally protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion. Yesterday in a 5 to 4 decision Roe V Wade was overturned thus making safe and legal abortion illegal. The high court's religious conservative majority reversed a half-century of legal precedent, a move that will reverberate throughout the country and the world. In a world reeling in hatred, division and continuing misogyny, the conservative judges have added to the overwhelming stress and injustice perpetrated on women. Meanwhile, in a 6 to 3 ruling, Judges made it easier to carry guns. If they cared about saving lives they'd do something about gun control and their perpetual wars. USA has become Afghanistan. Guns everywhere, restrictive religious practices, political confusion and invasive repression of female rights. The fact that FIVE PEOPLE can tell 167,500,000 women in America what they can and cannot do with their own bodies is a travesty. Being a Supreme Court Judge for life doesn't indict wisdom.
