#LauraTingle encapsulates my sentiments precisely in her article 'Firestorm's other side is a political catastrophe. We must question the state of politics when the culture wars take over from saving lives and property'. #auspol
Can anyone name ONE FEDERAL POLITICIAN who has assumed REAL LEADERSHIP and taken DECISIVE ACTION for the PEOPLE and ENVIRONMENT during these catastrophes which may be just beginning?
The level of party political point-scoring, sniping, he-said-she-said, photo opportunities, hogging the limelight, cruel utterances from insensitive larrikins, 'surplus' blahblahblahblah, and extreme ineptitude from the 'highest ones' in the land is suffocating and dangerous in the extreme.
NOT ONE POLITICAL "LEADER" that I've observed has stood up TO UNITE ALL PARTIES to work together for the wellbeing of millions of suffering and desperate Australians, injured and dying animals, property, etc. Why can't they JUST DO IT?
Summer doesn't begin until the solstice on 22 December.
What if it doesn't rain for another three years?
Are our politicians deserving of their lofty positions and hefty paycheques?
It's time they got behind us in meaningful ways.
THANKFULLY leadership is extensive among the Firies, Fire Chiefs, RFS, SES, Local Mayors, Voluntary Organisations, Police Forces, etc and So-Called Ordinary People including Children - who are being EXTRAORDINARY. These are MY HEROES.
Please keep up the great work MY HEROES and look after each other because clearly, our politicians are failing miserably during these tragedies. At least we now know beyond a doubt that we're on our own and can't trust them to lead with vision and wisdom - although I hold out hope that they will lift their game, stop attacking each other and become constructive.
