As I watched this assault, I was transported to another place in another life approximately six hundred years ago when I was mercilessly hunted down by the upholders of the law and later burnt alive at the stake. My crimes? Being a midwife and healer and preparing plants for healing poultices.
Rewilding is a term that we usually associate with the land and animals by allowing natural processes to restore them to health, but it also applies to humans.
Unfortunately, the lockups and restrictions of the past eighteen months and ongoing have all but stopped deep connection to Nature for far too many - particularly those in the cities. Lawmakers must find ways to permit their citizens to rewild themselves within reasonable restrictions as the virus continues its mutations - perhaps for many more years.
Humans are an integral part of Nature and must commune without guilt in our natural habitat for total wellbeing or we may find we are raising generations of depressed children and young people who may be forever stultified and zombified.
