Frank's ride is a journey of appreciation and respect, particularly for those who form the backbone of the healthcare system, such as doctors and nurses, hospital personnel, intensive care teams, carers, testing, psychologists, and all those working in online mental wellbeing services.
His chosen charity 'Beyond Blue' helps prevent anxiety, depression and suicide, and all funds raised will support this remarkable work.
If you would like to support Frank in his endeavour, please acknowledge him if you see him on the road, and you may donate to 'Beyond Blue' at the following link. Every dollar given adds up, and no amount is too small - or too large.

Meanwhile, I'm supporting Frank in every way possible, including caring for his two cuddly Russian Blue cats and his beautiful home and garden in Adelaide for the duration of his journey.

My name is Frank Maraz, and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. Since this Covid19 has been torturing us, I can see and feel its effects on the people of Australia. But, out there around the world, this pandemic and its results are even worse in many countries.
So, seeing the frontline workers enormous efforts and risks to keep our country safe, I decided to give back something as my appreciation and honour. So I am on a bicycle trip around two-thirds of Australia. It will take about six months, and I will ride close to 10,000 km. I left Adelaide on 7th August.
I am making this journey for those affected by this virus, such as people who have lost family members or have been infected by it, losing a job, business, or relationship and ending up in financial hardship. These difficulties may bring out our anxiety or depression. I am one such person.
During this trip, I will document many moments and put photos and video clips online. I have already started sharing here: Follow Frank's journey on Instagram.
My logo is a penny-farthing bike.
Thirty years ago, I rode around the world on a push-bike. Now, at age 59, I want to recall that life-changing time. Most of my happiest memories are connected to those two years, even when physically and mentally challenging.
I want to send a message to my fellow Australians that there can be a personal way out of this crisis. Indeed everyone has happy memories from the past. My message is, try to recall and relive those moments again. Why not? You may love to play a musical instrument or restore furniture or a car in your garage - whatever brought a smile to your face at that time - make it a reality again. Make it happen again. I can't promise you will achieve on the same level, but I can promise you that smile if you do it.
This trip, this journey, this challenge is called: ROAD TO RECOVERY
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Beyond Blue Limited, and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
