The Sunflower is Ukraine's National Symbol
The sunflower is Ukraine's national symbol, and it has now become the symbol of solidarity with many people wearing embroidered sunflowers on their apparel. Artists have been asked to post paintings of sunflowers as a show of support for Ukraine.
Ukraine had the highest production volume of sunflower seeds of any country globally in the 2021/2022 crop year. Ukraine produced around 17.5 million metric tons of sunflower seeds during that time. As a result, Ukraine is now the world's biggest sunflower oil producer. Fields cover 6.5 million hectares of land, predominantly in the country's steppe regions in the centre and east. Seven hundred varieties are grown commercially, and seeds would typically be sown next month and then harvested in September.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24 has significantly disrupted the Ukrainian sunflower oil industry and supply chain, with Ukraine the top exporter of sunflower oil globally. Russia's invasion caused commodity prices across oil, gas, and agricultural markets to spike as attacks on cities, ports, and infrastructure sent shockwaves through supply chains. Trading sunflower oil has all but stopped due to the war.

My sincere sympathies also go to all the good people of Russia who do not want this war. Hold strong. It's going to be tough everywhere for quite some time. But, we will thrive in all countries after all the evil controllers are removed.
