Pillars that form the foundation of every civilisation, such as politics, the environment, education, law and order, the economy, food and water, have been shaken to their foundations, and further devastation is foreseeable.
And now the horror in the Middle East has intensified. Since Monday, 9 October, over 1,100 people have died, and countless more are injured, frightened and without access to basic necessities. This escalation of violence is due to the ongoing conflict between Hamas and the Israeli military. Tragically, these deaths are in addition to the already overwhelming number of innocent civilians, including children, women and men, who have suffered for decades from the violence and depravity of those seeking retribution, resources and power.
What Hamas is doing is unforgivable. So is Israel's response. Amid this turmoil, the political leaders of many nations and individuals have taken sides with either the Palestinians or the Israelis. 'The right to self-defence' is the refrain of all Western leaders. Is there anyone who advocates diplomacy, dialogue, cooperation, peacekeeping and mediation? How will more slaughter, destruction, use of heinous weapons, and spending billions and trillions achieve anything? You don't have to be a clairvoyant to see what this kind of support will achieve in a few months. But it is important to ask whether they really understand the gravity of the situation and the underlying forces at play.
The production and sale of armaments such as firearms, artillery, tanks, missiles, aircraft, naval vessels, etc., are among the most profitable industries in the world. The powers that produce them want them to be used to maintain their high status. Therefore, this conflict has the potential to spread like a plague and engulf other nations with its inhuman disregard for life and property through the use of the cruellest weapons.
While the chaos and turmoil may seem unprecedented, it is important to remember that history has shown us similar events as dozens of civilisations rose and fell or disappeared. The Akashic Records, which record the cyclical nature of human society, remind us of the patterns we find ourselves in. Amid this descent into madness, we are called to rise above the chaos.
The current situation requires us to go deep within, tap into our true selves and embody compassion, empathy and wisdom - qualities that will guide us through these troubled times and help us to create a more harmonious and just world, and we can IF we show up as our better selves.
The responsibility to bring about change does not lie with a few but with each of us. Every thought, action and word we utter has immense power. We can shape reality and influence the collective consciousness. So, I would like to encourage you to use your favourite techniques, such as meditation, prayer vigils or participation in peacekeeping rituals.
The power is in our hands. We are not powerless. Let us join together and use our collective ingenuity to bring about change that will shape the course of history with compassion, inspiration and wisdom.
Please stay strong and focused on positive change,
Picture it,
Cedar
