The average life span for an Australian woman is 82 years. I'll be doing well to make that as I have a dodgy heart that needs an energiser pacemaker to make it beat and widespread rickety bits. Still, on that figure of 82 and as I'm turning 74 on my birthday in March, I'll have lived 90% of my life. So with possibly less than a decade to live I'm determined to make this next 10% count. However, if I follow my maternal grandmother's example, I have a couple of decades in me yet.
